In the most delicate moments of life, every decision matters. This workshop focuses on the initial approach, assessment, and management of critically ill pediatric patients, emphasizing the importance of early recognition, timely intervention, and effective teamwork in pediatric emergencies.

Led by Professor Verica Mišanović, MD, PhD, participants will gain insight into the fundamental principles of pediatric emergency care through a theoretical introduction, followed by a practical, simulation-based session.

A gynecological examination is more than a routine procedure – it is an opportunity for prevention, early detection and protecting health through every stage of life.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the fundamentals of the gynecological examination, learn how to perform Pap smear sampling and vaginal/cervical swabs and understand the clinical significance of TORCH infections during pregnancy.

Through guided practice on gynecological simulators, participants will turn theory into practical skills and experience the procedures behind some of the most essential aspects of preventive gynecological care.

Before there is a first breath, there is a first glimpse. This workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of prenatal ultrasound, including the basic principles of fetal imaging, assessment of fetal anatomy, and recognition of standard ultrasound views. The practical session will include a demonstration of an ultrasound examination in pregnancy, with prior consent, offering participants an insight into how ultrasound becomes the first window into a developing life.

In pediatric medicine, infections are common — but knowing when a common presentation may be hiding something more serious is where clinical reasoning begins.

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how to approach the child with suspected infection, recognise clinical red flags, navigate common pediatric infectious diseases and make appropriate initial management decisions.

Through realistic case-based scenarios and hands-on activities, you’ll put your clinical reasoning to the test while exploring infection prevention and control, isolation measures, vaccination and strategies for preventing the spread of infection.
